Camp Shane runs two specialized camps for overweight children in the Catskill Mountains of New York and Mayer, Arizona. The objectives of the camp are for the campers to lose weight, learn new skills, gain self-esteem and have fun. The day consists of six activity periods. Each period a different group comes to the studio. Abilities range considerably and ages are from 8 to 17, although within each period the kids are about the same age. You would need to be prepared with many different routines, exercises, movements, dances, etc. Since various ages have different interests, it is important that you have the ability to vary the program to keep it appealing. You would be in charge of the studio and everything that happens there. You would need to feel comfortable and confident enough to plan and lead groups. The position requires strong leadership qualities.
