Job Description:

Camp Shane runs two specialized camps for overweight children in the Catskill Mountains of New York and in Mayer, Arizona. The objectives of the camp are for the campers to lose weight, learn new skills, gain self-esteem and have fun.

We hire one counselor to run the paintball program. Depending on camper interest, we run between two to four 45-minute periods a day, six days a week. You will be completely in charge of the daily running, cleaning, repairs and storing the guns. We own 30 Tippmann 98 guns, purchased new in 1999. You need to be instruct children in how to shoot, set rules and be confident in your ability to take charge of a group. You must be an extremely responsible individual to insure the safety of all participants. This will include enforcing strict safety rules, caring for equipment and every other aspect of this program. As with all counselors, you will be living in a cabin with campers and other staff members. When not involved in your area, you will have bunk responsibilities, spending the day with the kids in your cabin, participating in all the activities they have on their daily schedule.

Job Requirements:

Must have completed freshman year in college. Must have previous experience, emotional maturity, good moral character and integrity, be flexible and cooperative. Must possess strong paintball skills, leadership and organizational skills. Enjoy a camp environment, be friendly, caring, kind, outgoing, like children and be lots of fun!
