Job Description:

Brown Ledge has a six (6) member swim staff. At Brown Ledge campers are not required to swim. Those interested in swimming may spend as much or as little time at swimming as they wish. This means that attendees are interested in improving swim skills and progressing in the sport.

In addition to swimming, Brown Ledge offers , sailing ,competitive diving, waterskiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking and windsurfing, as well as a large horsemanship and theatre departments, tennis, archery, riflery, arts & crafts and trip. All activities are taught from Beginner to Advanced levels. We have a co-ed staff of 75 people who hail from all over the US and a number of other countries, and range in age from 19 to 60+, with an average age of 26. Brown Ledge offers excellent equipment and venues , and takes pride in the quality of its instruction

Brown Ledge is know as the "Different Camp". Campers, all girls 10 to 17 yo, are given unusual degrees of freedom, autonomy, and responsibility. There is no scheduling. Activities are open throughout the day , and campers may attend any activity they wish, when they wish with whom they wish. No sign-ups they just go and stay as long as they wish. All instruction is on a one-one or two-on-one basis. Campers challenge themselves to learn. Brown Ledge has the feel of a small college - relaxed with much accomplishment. BLC has a high rate of return for staff.

Job Requirements:

Ideal candidate will have swim team experience, knowledge of and ability to teach all 4 stores, and ability to analyze and correct strokes. In addition, will have previously worked in an aquatic setting teaching and lifeguarding.

Also, ideal candidate will have experience teaching how to teach swimming.

Candidates must hold LGT or have ability to obtain LGT, and have at least 2 years of college or other significant experience post high school.

This is a summer only position located in the Burlington, Vermont area. Room and board are included. Good salary.
