Resident Assistant

Job Location: various sites across the US - many, MD, United States

Job Description:

RAs are part of a community that encourages and supports intellectual curiosity, rigorous thinking, and a joy for learning. RAs are responsible for the physical and emotional safety of students, and for the development of a fun, dynamic, and engaging activities program. The RA informs students of CTY rules and expectations and works to insure that these guidelines are followed. RA committments also include attendance at daily meetings and working in committees to plan all-site weekend events. RAs’ working hours are primarily the hours students are not in class. RAs work weekends.


Terms of Employment:


Starting salary is $1,200 per three-week session; Employees pay their travel to and from program locations; Room and board is provided.


Dates of Employment:


Session 1 is from June 26 to July 19, 2006 and session 2 is from July 19 - August 9, 2006.

Job Requirements:

Experience as a camp counselor or college RA; Experience supervising young students; Ability to create and organize group events and daily recreational activities; Ability to enforce rules; Leadership skills; Ability to work effectively in committees; Mature, responsible, energetic; College GPA of 3.2 or better.
