Job Description:

Instructors plan, organize and teach education and fun activities that enable children to discover new areas of interest, learn new skills and build new friendships. You will develop your own age appropriate curriculum and lesson plans and teach what you love. You will learn the best practices in both experiential and cooperative education and share ideas with talented colleagues. Areas of instruction include Visual and Performing Arts, Enrichment, Service Learning, Sports and Recreation, Outdoor Education and Swim.

Visual and Performing Arts: Give children the opportunity to express themselves creatively and experience the sense of accomplishment that comes from mastering techniques and completing projects. Programs include drama, dance, music, art, ceramics and sculpture.

Sports/Recreation and Outdoor Education: Develop age-appropriate activities that keep children active, help them develop skills and learn about teamwork and sportsmanship. Programs include soccer, basketball, tennis, rugby, ultimate Frisbee, flag football, lacrosse, team-building initiatives, rock climbing and outdoor education.

Swim: Teach the American Red Cross Swimming curriculum to children of all ages and levels. You will be in the water every day (unless weather is prohibitive) and teaching everything from dunking underwater to swimming the entire length of the pool. Swim instructors should be certified lifeguards and have current certification in CPR. Oasis offers lifeguard certification at no charge prior to the beginning of the summer. Job Requirements:

Some sports and recreation instructors specialize in specific activities such as soccer, outdoor education, basketball or tennis. Others will lead a variety of activities such as ultimate Frisbee, flag football, rugby and lacrosse. Sports instructors must be at least of college age and have experience organizing relevant activities.

All Instructors must attend pre-camp trainings for their concentrated area along with 4 days of onsite training.
