Job Description:

Oasis lifeguards teach children the American Red Cross Swimming Program. You will teach the children everything from dunking their heads to swimming the length of the pool.

Specific responsibilities include: encouraging all children and staff to learn to swim and improve their water safety ability, assisting with all waterfront activities as assigned, aiding in implementation of a strict water safety program in keeping with the American Camping Association Standards, Red Cross requirements, and Board of Health regulations, assisting in the development and implementation of swim lessons geared to the ages, interests and abilities of campers, assisting in testing and classifying the swimming ability of all staff and campers and assisting in record keeping and in keeping waterfront areas and equipment in order. Job Requirements:

Current Lifeguard Certification, current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification from the American Red Cross or other recognized organization are necessary. Previous experience as a Lifeguard is preferred. Housing is not provided for staff, so you must arrange for your own housing or already live in the New York City area.
