Job Description:

Camp Airy (for boys) in Thurmont, MD and Camp Louise (for girls) in Cascade, MD, have been in the business of making a difference in children's lives for over 80 summers. We are resident camps in the mountains of Western Maryland, serving Jewish children ages 7-17 (many of our staff, however, are not Jewish, and come to us from all over the
U.S., Britain, Europe, and Australia!).

We are looking for counselors with an activity specialty in Lifeguarding/Swim Instruction (Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required). You and a co-counselor will be supervising a bunk of 12-14 campers (you select the age you prefer) and also instructing in the activity specialty area of your choice. As a counselor, you will be a constant source of support to campers: friend, companion, teacher. Salary Supplement for Lifeguard Certification; extra supplement for WSI.

Job Requirements:

Candidates must have completed (at minimum) freshman year of college and Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Can earn intern credits towards degree in education, health education, family studies, recreation, psychology, sociology, human development. Must be availabe mid-June thru mid-August 2010.
