Job Description:

The job entails:
1. Teaching: group sizes of 4-12 children, aged between 7 and 15, (always with the assistance of a general counselor). Working on small projects i.e. music videos, mock commercials & TV shows, comedy skits, slideshows.
2. Video Yearbook: documenting Camp life throughout the summer i.e. special events, sports, candid moments, theatrical productions, musical events. Footage to be organized for a Boston-based production company.

- 5 days off and most of your nights will be free (3 hours approx).
- Dates of employment are June 17th to August 19th (9 weeks).
- 2 weeks of staff training and 7 weeks working with children.

- Salary is $2500 and up based on experience and equipment.

Job Requirements:

Essential:

An enthusiastic, motivated individual.
The knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate filming fundamentals and techniques.
The ability to communicate, with patience and clarity, with children and co-workers.
20+ years of age.

Preferred:

1.) Experience of working with children
2.) Experience of teaching film production

We're a New Hampshire based overnight summer Camp (2 hours from Boston) looking to hire a new video guy or girl. The Camp is a summer home to a vibrant and welcoming community of 300 children and 180 staff from all over the world. The dates of employment are JUNE 13-AUGUST 15, 2010. It is mandatory that the hired instructor stays for the entire nine weeks. To be considered for this position you MUST have a DVD sampler or online portfolio.

The ideal candidate would be a film student or school teacher with a free summer and production experience who can teach elementary production to boys and girls, ages 7-15 i.e. shooting with digital video cameras and editing the footage. Previous experience using Sony NEX-VG30 Interchangeable Lens HD Handycam Camcorder With 18-200mm Lens + Essential Kit: Includes - High Definition Wide Angle Lens, HD Telephoto, would be desirable.
