 Humanities Instructor
Job Location: sites across USA - many, MD, United States
Job Description:
Summer programs instructors are responsible for teaching an appropriately challenging and rigorous course to approximately 15-18 highly able students (12-15 in Young Students classes). Instructors' primary responsibilities are to plan and conduct their classes and labs within our guidelines, to monitor the progress of each of their students, and to supervise their instructional assistants (there is usually one assistant for each instructor).
Instructors' daily work hours will be class times, the evening study period Sunday-Thursday (residential sites only), and additional class planning and preparation time as needed. Instructors do not have scheduled responsibilities on weekends, with the exception of the opening weekend, intersession (residential sites only), and the closing weekend, when all staff must remain on campus to assist with student arrival and departure.
Terms of Employment:
Starting salary is $2100-$3000 per three-week session;
Employees pay their travel to and from program locations;
For residential program employees, room and board are provided.
Dates of Employment:
Session 1 is from June 26 to July 19, 2006 and Session 2 is from July 19 - August 9, 2006.

Job Requirements:
Teaching experience, preferably with children or adolescents;
Graduate training in mathematics preferred; Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
