Job Description:

Follow a daily and weekly schedule of activities. Complete group attendance and sign-out records on a daily basis. Maintain your assigned group’s information binder containing emergency information, activities and schedules. Participate in the supervision of children at the program site and on day trips. Plan, prepare and implement various activities, sports, arts and crafts and field days using the resources provided with assistance from group counselors. Enforce all program policies and procedures. Enforce program safety procedures. Assist in publicity for your assigned group’s activities. Attend staff meetings at your assigned site once a week; day and time to be determined by Site Supervisor. Supervise Group Counselors and Counselors in Training and delegate responsibility as needed. Help co-counselors improve supervisory skills though observation, feedback and other constructive techniques. Participate in operations at Carnival in the Park. Assist with special projects as required. Perform all duties with safety and responsibility in mind. Perform other duties as assigned. Refer to the Group Leader job description for more detailed responsibilities. $8.15 - $12.00 per hour 25 hours/week

Job Requirements:

Must attend Staff Orientation on Saturday, June 7, 2008 2pm - 5pm at the Bernards Township Library. Time subject to change. Must attend Parent Meet and Greet Monday, June 9 2008 4:30 - 6:30 PM at the Community Center. Must be able to work the entire 6-week program, NO EXCEPTIONS. Program dates are Monday – Friday, June 23rd – August 1st, with a Holiday on July 4th, 2008. Be present at site during normal working hours. Hours are 8:15am – 1:15pm OR 8:00am-1:00pm depending on site assignment. Must be available to attend Carnival in the Park, Wednesday evening, July 9, 2008 at Dunham Park.

Prefer any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Prefer a minimum of two years previous summer program experience. Experience working with children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Experience with supervising and managing staff. Knowledge of games and activities suitable for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
