Job Description:

Supervise Village Staff (12 - 18 counselors, typically high school and college aged) Plan, develop and implement curriculum goals, including weekly theme programs, overnight programs, rainy day progrqams and positive behavior incentive plan in coordination with other village supervisors, Assistant Director and Director. As needed, meet with Director and Parents when there are concerns about camper’s behavioral or health needs. Assist with any overall administrative tasks as assigned by the Camp Director. Be the head “cheerleader” and ruach (hebrew for spirit) motivator for village staff and campers. Be available as a program resource to all staff Be available as a staff resource to all staff (specialists and counselors having problems with campers, other staff, etc.) Work with staff and campers when behavior management issues occur. Be the primary communicator with parents of your village’s campers when behavior management issues arise. Answer calls from and make calls to parents of campers when necessary Keep in constant communication with Anisfield Director/Assistant Director keeping each other informed of any and all unusual situations or problems as they occur during the day. Be a role model to campers and staff. Working hours for regular (non late night or overnight) camp days is typically 8:15 am – 4:45 pm; not including Monday night meetings.

Job Requirements:

Prior Experience in Day Camp as a camp counselor. Previous supervisory experience a plus. College degree in education, social work or related field preferred. Enthusiastic, hard working, creative and flexible.
