Job Description:
Camp Skylemar (a boy’s residential summer camp in southern, Maine) seeks a Teacher to implement an outdoor science program, which consists of 40 minute hands-on experiments and activities. Activities include things like making “volcano’s”, root beer, rock candy, bubble gum, etc. Topics can also include campcraft or ecology programs.<P>
The Teacher will also tutor several children who require individual academic remediation throughout the summer. He or she will also be involved with other aspects of camp life, such as special events, mentoring campers and counselors, plus whatever else the teacher has interest in.<P>
We are looking for a wonderful, fun, energetic, creative teacher. Camp experience is not necessary. We will provide plenty of guidance on curriculum, but the teacher will run his or her own program. We value new ideas and suggestions, and seek someone who is able to work independently within a friendly, helpful community.<P>
The salary range is $250 - $450 per week, plus we provide housing, meals and laundry service. Families & pets are welcome and possible scholarship for child.
