Job Description:

SEEKING ATHLETIC DIRECTOR: We are seeking multi-talented enthusiastic individuals who can provide quality instruction from beginner to advanced levels in two or more land sports. Instruction is geared to the camper's individual skill level, and is patient and thorough with due regard for both safety and enjoyment. The Athletic Program is comprised of two Athletic Directors (1 on each campus) and over 60 qualified instructors who have documented experience in their specialty area, as both a competitor/player as well as a teacher/coach. Applicants, who hold current certification in their area of expertise, are preferred.

ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES: Aerobics, archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, dodgeball, exercise and fitness, extreme bungee jumping, field hockey, floor hockey, flag football, frisbee, gaga, golf, gymnastics, horseback riding, inline skating, jogging, judo, karate, kickball, lacrosse, martial arts, newcomb, paintball, ping-pong, riflery, roller hockey, rugby, skateboarding, soccer, softball, tennis, tetherball, t-ball, touch football, track meets, video game room, volleyball, weight training, and wrestling.

FACILITIES: Large Gymnasium with wood floor and stage for theatre productions; Teen Rec Center with stage for theatre shows; Tennis Center (10 hard-surfaced courts, and ball machines); Skate Park with ramps & rails, and large half-pipe; Hockey Rink; Baseball Field with clay infield paths; 2 Softball Fields; 2 Soccer Fields; 2 Athletic Fields for team sports (lacrosse, flag football, etc); Paintball Field with natural and man-made obstacles; Indoor and 4 Outdoor Basketball Courts; Martial Arts/Wrestling Room; Weight-Training Room and Fitness Room; 2 Riflery Ranges; 2 Archery Ranges; 5 Golf Cages; 3 GaGa Courts; 6 Volleyball Courts (grass & sand); 7 Badminton Courts; Playground Area; Tetherball Courts; and Video Game Room (air hockey, video machines, dome hockey, foozball tables, shuffle board tables, PS2's, Nintendos). Job Requirements:

Camp Cayuga is a coed nonsectarian sleepaway camp located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. Family owned and operated since 1963, Cayuga caters to normal average children of the ages 6 to 16.

We are seeking individuals with high moral character, who exhibit good sportsmanship, strong loyalty, honesty, and the ability to work hard to ensure a positive camp experience for our campers! If you consider yourself a good role model and have a genuine interest in working with children, we encourage you to apply. Our staff members have fun at Cayuga because they possess a good sense of humor, an outgoing personality, and good leadership abilities.

Our success is directly related to the quality of our staff, who are dedicated to providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment for our campers. Each camper is under the close care and direct supervision of at least 2 cabin counselors. Our senior staff are professional educators, teachers, nurses, and coaches. The staff/camper ratio is 1 to 4. All staff attend a one-week orientation for qualifying and training prior to the campers' arrival.
