Camper Support Counselor

Job Location:

Burlington - Colchester, VT, United States

Job Description:

Since its inception in 1927, Brown Ledge has granted campers and staff unusual degrees of freedom, autonomy and responsibility. For example camper range from 10 to 17 YO and live in small cabins of 4 or 5 girls. They have a counselor but she does not live with the campers, she lives with other staff her age. Secondly all activities are designed to teach skills from horsemanship, to theatre arts, tennis, archery, sailing, swimming, competitive diving, etc. Campers may attend any activities they wish, when they wish, for as long as they wish. Once at an activity campers work mostly on a one-on-one basis with an activity counselor at their own skill level, and pace of learning. Campers quickly learn that failing is a very important step to success

Campers are all girls aged 10 to 17 YO and hail from all over the US and a number of other countries. We have a co-ed staff with people from numbers of countries.
