Job Description:

The site nurse is responsible for overseeing medical issues at the site. The position is both administrative and clinical. Primary duties include processing student medical forms; dispensing prescription and OTC medications students have brought with them to the site; conferring with parents; assessing and treating student illnesses and injuries; making referrals and acting as a liaison to nearby clinics, physician's offices, and/or hospitals. At most sites, the site nurse receives assistance with record-keeping and clerical duties from one or more health assistants.

Terms of Employment:

• Starting salary ranges from $4,800 to $6,000, depending on experience, for a seven-week period (Although we prefer full-time nurses at our sites, part-time (4-5 hours per day or less) positions are available at some sites with starting salaries from $18.50 - $23.00 an hour.)
• For residential program employees, room and board are provided (Nurses who live nearby may commute to the site)
• Employees pay their travel to and from domestic locations
• Travel assistance is provided for international travel to sites outside of North America

Programs run from late June to early August. Please refer to the Site Locations & Dates page for the specific dates of employment.
