Event Guide/Balloon Handler

The Event Guide/Balloon Handler is primarily responsible for assisting in executing internal and external Special Events and serves as parade assistant for Macy’s Holiday Parade handling hot air balloons, crowd control, lock-down and clean-up. The primary duty is to act as ambassadors to Guests by welcoming them, communicating Event flow information and providing overall park directions. The Event Guide must be comfortable interacting with people and able to provide exemplary Guest Service.

Qualified candidates must:

Execute Special Events in Universal Studios, Islands Of Adventure, CityWalk, Resort Hotels and Sound Stages.

Assist with arrivals and check-in of Event Guests, facilitate movement of groups throughout the resort, provide overall itinerary information and assistance to Special Event Guests (restroom, attraction and bus locations), maintain boundaries of Event, distribute materials (programs, souvenirs, ponchos, etc.) assist with on-site needs of Event Guests (Lost and Found, Health Services, etc.), assist with setting up barricades or rope and stanchion, perform other duties as needed with the Event.

Provide assistance during Productions in the park – crowd control, barricade and rope and stanchion placement.

Provide assistance with directing buses on park property.

During peak park operation, assist with Entrance Operations in turnstiles, Guest Services, etc.

Handle balloons in the Macy’s Holiday Parade during 1-hour parade.

Be a minimum of 125lbs and able to handle up to 50lbs or balloon.

Recruit Guests to participate in Macy’s Holiday Parade as balloon handlers.

Assist with lock-down and crowd control before and during parade.

Assist in cleaning the parade route after parade.

Be available afternoons, nights and weekends.

Perform other duties as assigned.
