Challenge Yourself This Summer!Whether you enjoy sailing down a river, exploring natural surroundings, or playing games on a sunny day; the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital has a place for you! We operate four summer resident camps in the DC Metro area that offer a variety of unique programs and positions to meet the interests of the staff and campers alike.
This summer, challenge yourself to try something new and join the staff at a GSCNC resident camp!
Our camps are located near Leesburg, Stafford, and Harrisonburg, VA and Hughesville, MD and offer girls a variety of opportunities.
Four Great Camps to Choose From:
Camp Potomac Woods is located on the Potomac River in Loudoun County, VA. Girls enjoy hiking, horseback riding, field games, drama, dance, archery, swimming, and much more. Half- and one-week programs are offered to girls completing grades K-11.
Camp Winona is a brand new resident camp that opened for the first time the summer of 2008. Located near Hughesville, MD with many new facilities- including a new zero-entry pool, dining hall, and units- this camp has already proven to be a hit. Girls have the opportunity to participate in canoeing and kayaking, hiking, games, nature, and more. Half- and one-week programs are offered to girls completing grades K-11.
Experience adventure at Camp May Flather, nestled in the George Washington National Forest near Harrisonburg, VA. Girls push their limits while participating in hiking, backpacking, the challenge course, rock climbing, caving, primitive camping, canoeing, and even advanced arts and crafts! One- and two-week camps are offered to girls completing grades 3 through 11.
Set sail on the Aquia Creek at Camp Coles Trip, near Stafford, VA. Water activities are the focus here! Girls choose from windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing as they head off to explore the water. One- and two-week programs are offered to girls completing grades 5-11.
