We are currently open to applications for the role of Senior Director of International Finance. This is a remote role, and the ideal candidate will be based in either the UK or Western Europe.


The Senior Director of International Finance (SrDIF) is responsible for the overall financial management and compliance of SGS & Co’s international operations. Responsibilities include the management of international accounting operations, oversight of compliance and financial management systems, procedures, and internal controls required for international operations. The position also ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), applicable regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures. The SrDIF is responsible for ensuring the integrity of SGS & Co’s overall and individual general ledgers related to international activities.


In this role, you will be responsible for 4 direct reports, leading a wider team of 32 indirect reports across the UK and France, Mexico, India, and Philippines and China.


This role represents an ideal opportunity for a Chartered Accountant (or equivalent), ideally with a professional services/audit background, to join an complex, fast paced global business embarking on an exciting growth journey. You will have opportunity to partner with stakeholders globally, leveraging your strong relationship building capacity to work towards creative solutions to issues relating to financial control across all our business functions.

• Implementation of effective internal controls and compliance management

• Building financial management capacity among staff and partner organizations

• Delivering effective internal & external reporting and decision support

• Leading an International Finance Team

• Performing other duties as assigned



You will have:


• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, and appropriate post-graduate accounting qualification

• A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience, including 5 years of leadership experience

• Experience with financial and accounting systems; highly skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills

• Excellent skills in the design and maintenance of financial management systems, internal controls, finance policies, and procedures development, and business planning and analysis

• Exceptional analytical and innovative problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and competing priorities

• Strong interpersonal abilities. The capability of influencing others in a global, cross-functional organization; consultative and creative plus the ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization

• Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written and spoken), with a “can-do” positive and proactive attitude

• Leadership skills as a change facilitator and exceptional client-service orientation

• Effective skills in recruiting, mentoring, and developing staff

• Ability to travel globally (up to 20% of time)
