LEAD RECREATION ASSISTANT LIFEGUARD

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: For pool and aquatic center lifeguards: Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Must have experience which provides practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable. In addition, applicants must have prior experience as a lifeguard and have knowledge of pool safety and pool maintenance requirements. Must have prior training or experience which demonstrates leadership abilities. Water Safety Instructor Certificate is highly desired. Must be able to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment physical examination. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. Satisfactory completion of installation records checks, state and national criminal background checks may be required for positions that provide lifesaving duties for children. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
