Job Description Job Description Position Overview An IDEAS Summer Day Camp Counselor will daily implement a supplied day camp curriculum using supplied materials for a small group of campers ages 3-12. Counselors lead a wide variety of camp activities and classes, while being responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and emotional well being of every IDEAS summer camper. NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES Networking that can help with acquiring interviews and recommendation letters across all industries Position Details Job Type: Full-Time Seasonal Job Location: IDEAS Summer Day Camps are hosted at Xavier University. Job Description: An IDEAS Summer Day Camp Counselor, while leading a wide variety of camp activities and classes, is responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and emotional well-being of every IDEAS summer camper. Counselors rely on supplied curriculum and materials to guide daily camper activities. Hourly Pay Rate: 14.50 Anticipated Work Hours Per Week: 35-40 Schedule: Camp operates Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Shifts are arranged with the Camp Director and posted weekly. Camp Dates: June 2 - July 25 Must be able to attend required training: In-person PAID training on Saturday, May 31 & Sunday, June 1 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Qualifications Counselor Position Expectations: Strong commitment to educational programming for kids and teenagers Access to reliable automobile for entire duration of the summer camp season Access to a reliable mobile phone device (i.e. iPhone, Android, etc.) Strong organization skills and attention to detail Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands Ability to work collaboratively on a high-functioning team Openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately Ability to communicate clearly, maturely, and compassionately with students and families Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy, and exceptional enthusiasm all day, every day, for the duration of the summer Experience & Education: High School Degree (Seniors Graduating in Spring 2025 may apply) Completion of or pursuing a bachelor's degree preferred 1 year working with children Job Posted by ApplicantPro
