Job Description Job Description Certified Lifeguard Seasonal Position for Summer Program June 30 - August 22, 2025 Monday - Friday 8:30am-3:30pm Easterseals MA (ESMA) is looking for certified Lifeguards who enjoy supporting students while they enjoy summer recreational activities and programming. Consider applying to become part of an impactful team of professionals at Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (PRHC). PRHC in Canton, MA provides medical, rehabilitative, educational, recreational, habilitative, transitional, and complementary alternative medical services to children and young adults ages 7 – 22 with multiple disabilities. PRHC assists them to achieve their optimal level of independence in all aspects of life. ESMA collaborates with PRHC to provide staffing solutions for its programs and services. ESMA is proud to offer onsite training & mentoring for early career professionals who are passionate about working with the disability community. Essential Functions: Enforce all organizational and state policies, rules and regulations relative to the pool and waterfront area Recognize and respond effectively and appropriately to aquatic emergencies by using proper lifeguarding and first aid techniques as governed by the American Red Cross and organizational code procedures Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations by inspection of pool and waterfront area for maintenance and potential hazards Report unsafe conditions and faulty equipment to Aquatics Director or supervisor as soon as discovered Provide assistance to participants with transfers to enter/exit the pool Analyze water samples and chemical balances in accordance with state & local regulations to ensure safe swimming conditions Qualifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required Must be 17 years or older One (1) or more years working in aquatics (preferred) Knowledge and ability to assist with wheelchair transfers to enter/exit the pool (preferred) Additional Requirements: Easterseals Massachusetts conducts extensive background checks and professional references for all potential employees.
