Job Description Job Description If you love the outdoors and have experience working with children, I am actively seeking Summer Camp Educator and Counselor positions in the city of Decatur! Pay is $14-$18 per hour. In addition to summer camp, there are also opportunities in our After-School camp for grades K-5. The focus is on exploring nature, environmental education and adventure outdoors. Our schedule is based on the City Schools of Decatur calendar. The summer camp is for grades K-6 and also provides a one week Teen camp. This is a day camp opportunity with daily field trips typically outside the Atlanta Metro area covering various GA regions and is not a residential camp. It is focused on exploring nature, environmental education and outdoor adventure. The field trips may include, tree ropes/zip lining, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, hiking, tree climbing, white water rafting, paddle boarding, lake swimming, and others. The hours are approximately Monday through Friday from 8:15 am to 5:30 pm. The After-School program has flexible part-time hours start between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. and end between 5:30-6:30 p.m. based on your available days Monday through Friday. We spend our time having fun in nature on daily field trip hikes, in a hands-on curriculum on site, or participating in a variety of interest clubs led by our educators — whether it's environmental science, nature art, hiking, yoga, music, gardening and chickens, enviro sustainable practices, indoor rock climbing or more. Training and career growth opportunities are available towards a more full-time position and pay increases along with medical benefits and paid holiday. Applicants must undergo background checks and get certified in CPR and First Aid. The primary responsibility of all staff is camper safety and supervision. We are a fully vaccinated staff. Our program is currently located at 227 Weekes Street, Decatur, GA 30030.
