Electrical Engineering Intern

Job Description Job Description Hazen and Sawyer, DPC is an employee-owned firm working to help communities protect public health and the environment. Our primary focus is the planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure – for water, wastewater, and stormwater management. We have an opportunity for a summer intern to work with our electrical engineering group. The engineering intern will work closely with local electrical engineers who work in a variety of water/wastewater system design and management. This is an in-person office position located in the Hazen Buffalo, NY office (not remote). Responsibilities include integration with design teams from initial studies and conceptual design through construction of pump stations, and/or treatment plants. Assisting with power system studies (e.g., short-circuit and arc-flash) for new and existing facilities. Attending local field investigations and site visits. Qualifications: Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology Interested in design/consulting or construction Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Works well in a team Eager to learn Proficiency in all computer software typically used (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) CAD/Revit knowledge is a plus Codes/Standards knowledge is a plus SKM/ETAP experience is a plus
