Job Description Job Description Key Responsibilities: Culinary Expertise: Prepares dishes, following recipes and ensuring high quality. May be involved in menu planning and recipe development. Ensures food is prepared and plated according to standards. Ensure consistent high quality of plate presentation and front display presentation; high attention to detail. Kitchen Management: Oversees and supervises kitchen staff, including training. Manages kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Maintains kitchen inventory and orders supplies. Ensures adherence to health and safety regulations. Leadership and Teamwork: Acts as a leader in the absence of the executive chef. Collaborates with other members of the culinary team. Motivates and supports kitchen staff. Other Duties May be responsible for opening and closing duties. May assist with administrative tasks. Requirements Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands Provide strong leadership for a cohesive, hardworking kitchen team. Comply with scheduled kitchen sanitation and ensure all standards of cleanliness are met. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience and Education A thorough working knowledge of a variety of cuisines to include current and regional trends. 1 year of baking experience; prefer 5 years of working in a professional kitchen. Hold a valid California Food Handlers/ServSafe Certification. Computer Skills commensurate with kitchen operation. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Must be able to carry, move as well as lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods of time.
