Job Details*Job Location: *Main Campus - Edmond, OK *Position Type: *Staff *Salary Range: *$25.00 - $25.00 Hourly *Job Category: *OTRS Ineligible Description *Position Classification:* Temporary, part-time, hourly and non-exempt staff position. *General Schedule:* Classes are held Monday - Wednesday, between 8 - 4pm. Each instructor will work up to 10 hours per week. *Please Note: *This is a temporary, part- time position for the summer only. The last working day summer instructors will be at the conclusion of the summer program on July 16, 2025. *Position Overview & Job Duties:* Upward Bound Math Science Instructors are responsible for providing instruction to college-bound high school students in specific tops/content areas during the on-campus six-week summer session. Currently needed subjects: Foreign Language and Math. The instructor will develop curriculum materials and implement a course of instruction in the specialty area which provides students with the opportunity to enhance their academic skills necessary to successfully complete high school, matriculate through a post-secondary institution and graduate. * Prepare a syllabus, curriculum, activities/assignments, and assessments for subject areas. * Prepare for and meet classes as assigned and maintain a safe learning environment. * Participate in in-service training sessions as scheduled. * Evaluate and prepare reports of ongoing student progress. * Complete student assessment forms. * Request and assist in maintaining department equipment, supplies, and materials. * Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices to provide injury and illness prevention for self and others. * Participate in end-of-program achievement awards reception. * Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor. * Present awards and certifications at the End of Summer Awards Banquet. *Qualifications Required:* Completion of a bachelor’s degree in education or subject area, at least one (1) year of teaching experience at the high school level or equivalent combination of education and experience. *Qualifications Preferred:* Previous TRIO experience. Knowledge of best practices in teaching. Ability to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans to high school students preparing for college Experience with inquiry-based hands-on learning experiences. Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds. Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
