Job Description
Position Title: Playground Supervisor/ Temporary/ Summer Seasonal Program: Playground Camps Department: Parks and Recreation Accountable to: Playground Director Primary Objective of Position: Provide on and off-site leadership and supervision through planning, organizing and directing Activities and programming at all Playground sites, under the direct supervision of the Playground Director. Expectation of Duties: * Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience for all participants. * Works with the Playground Director to manage and supervise the Playground Site. * Provides work directions for Playground Counselors and C.I.T's . * Supervisor reports time off requests to Playground Director who will approve them * Plans and prepares weekly schedule and written post-season evaluation of program and * Recommendations for next season. * Communicates regularly with Director, public, staff, program participants and families. * Responsible for all preparation, submitting and reviewing all reports required on * participants, volunteers, staff, incidents and property damage. * Submit all documentation to the Director in a timely manner. * Attends, and provides supervision of super-events and field trips. * Provides support as needed for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment. * Organizes, delivers and keeps inventory of all equipment utilized at Playgrounds. * Assists with evaluations of all Playground Counselors and C.I.T.'s as well as overall * program. * Follows staff policies and procedures. * Ensure that all staff and program participants follow the established policies and * procedures. * Completes all other duties assigned by the Playground Director. * Adhere to and enforce all city and state health guidelines Minimum Qualifications: * Must be 18 years old * Must be available for the 6-week program * Must have experience working with children ages 6-12 * Must have experience in Education or Recreational Supervision * A creative mind and assertive personality to plan, lead and implement activities. * Knowledge of and skill in organization of sports, crafts, games, nature and special events. * Must have good communication, leadership and organizational skills. Desirable Qualifications: * Knowledge and understanding of child behavior, experience in recreational sports, games * and arts and crafts, and an ability to relate with and supervise children successfully. * Responsible, reliable and able to work as part of a team. * Competent in First Aid/CPR/AED.
