Posting Details (Default Section) Posting Number: 20254352S Position Title: Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine Position Type: Staff Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/12-months Department: 733-Athletics - Training Room Position Summary: The Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine will be responsible for managing all aspects of Sports Medicine operations, including coordinating healthcare delivery to varsity student-athletes, developing and implementing athletic training policies, working with the team physician, managing personnel, finances, risk, and enforcing medical expense policies. All duties must comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide leadership in the Athletics training rooms, develop strategies for healthcare delivery, and provide coverage for sport programs as needed. Oversee hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluation of Sports Medicine staff and contractors. Coordinate with the Head Team Physician for medical services, including specialties. Manage health insurance policies for student-athletes, maintain records, and coordinate insurance coverage and billing. Manage the NCAA Drug Testing Programs and NCAA sports medicine reporting requirements. Maintain relationships with healthcare providers and develop new ones as necessary. Ensure compliance with all guidelines and regulations, maintain medical records, and keep staff updated. Manage the Sports Medicine budget. Organize staff meetings and serve as liaison with external parties. Lead healthcare collaboration teams and develop risk management protocols. Coordinate sports medicine coverage for summer camps and ensure equitable healthcare services. Evaluate and recommend healthcare technology and resources. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in sports medicine/athletic training or related field; current NATABOC certification. Eligibility and application for Pennsylvania Athletic Training Class A Certification. Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Certification. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in sports medicine/athletic training or related field. CSCS Certification/PES Certification. Basketball experience. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions: Professional environment, some evening/weekend hours, travel may be required, physically fit to lift equipment and assist athletes.
