Job Description Job Description Pay rate: $22-$24/hour (based on experience). A flexible schedule to include morning, evenings and weekends as needed. The Coordinator is expected to work at least 2 weekends a month. P/T position, 20-30 hours per week. We are on a quest to make our community stronger beginning with you! The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Aquatics Director in ensuring safety and quality program delivery. The Aquatics Coordinator will ensure appropriate staffing and instructor/program ratios are observed. Other responsibilities will include assisting the Aquatics Director in staff training, scheduling, swim lesson oversight, and other administrative duties. Responsibilities for this position will include- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, developing, training, and scheduling of Aquatics staff. Monitor the quality of safety, programming, member retention, and customer satisfaction across all aquatic programming. Assist with swim lessons and aquatic program scheduling, including but not limited to community partner programs. Expand program offerings, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations. Teach swim lessons and lifeguard as needed. Successful candidates for this position possess the following skills- Strong communication to include active listening skills. Supportive of diversity and inclusion in all interactions. Organized and focused with a strong attention to detail. Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse team. Minimum Qualifications- Minimum 18 years of age at the time of employment. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of (2) years lifeguard and swim lesson instructor experience. Means of transportation to support offsite community programs. Current Lifeguard certifications, Red Cross First Aid for the Public Safety Personnel-Title 22 or equivalent, Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate or equivalent* (If not certified, expected to acquire certification within (4) months of hire, the Y will pay for certification) Fingerprint clearance from both Department of Justice (DOJ) & FBI, which includes sex offender screening. Preferred Qualifications- Language skills in Spanish. Minimum of (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
