Public Works Seasonal Maintenance

The Department of Public Works is now hiring 2025 Seasonal Maintenance employees to perform labor and maintenance work as assigned for its various divisions. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for that summer job to gain experience! Many of our Seasonal Maintenance employees have gone on to be hired for our regular, full-time positions! Operations Division/Sanitation Section * Hours: Monday - Friday; 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (40 hrs/week). * Performs work related to brush collection. * Garbage pick-up 1-day/week * Valid driver's license and good driving record required. * Continuous lifting up to 50 pounds. * Based out of West Side Municipal Garage: 519 S. Oneida Street Operations Division/Signs and Marking * Hours: Monday - Thursday; 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. OR Tuesday - Friday 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (40 hrs/week). * Loads and unloads materials associated with signing, marking, & barricading * Performs barricading duties and various work as assigned * Valid driver's license and good driving record required. * Continuous lifting up to 50 pounds. * Based out of East Side Municipal Garage: 1820 Mills Street * High school diploma or equivalent. * Experience performing manual labor preferred. * Valid driver's license and good driving record. A combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be considered. * Ability to follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees. * Ability to perform heavy manual labor. May be required to demonstrate minimum competency by successfully passing approved tests.
