The historical Albert Kahn clubhouse sits along two Donald Ross-designed 18-hole courses. The club cultivates a welcoming atmosphere and garners a sense of camaraderie for members and employees alike. Along with an active environment, Detroit Golf Club hosts, The Rocket Classic PGA tournament through 2027. The Swimming Pool Shift Supervisor/ Head Lifeguard Attendant is responsible for basic pool operation when manager is not present. Supervise staff to ensure a safe, clean, well-maintained and appealing club swimming facilities. Job Tasks/Duties: • Supervises guard staff • Formulates daily lifeguard rotations schedule and makes sure all staff are in place. • Ability to test and properly read basic pool chemistry, Chlorine and PH, reporting any imbalance immediately to Pool Manager • Ensures members register at pool entrance and are charged for all guests, lessons, etc. • Assists with training for pool staff. • Enforces club rules of safety and conduct. • Maintains a clean, safe and family-friendly atmosphere on the pool deck an in the locker rooms. • Assists in rendering First Aid according to the standards established by the American Red Cross and American Heart Association. • Assists with set up and clean-up of special pool/swim events. • Assists in maintaining all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemicals, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard and instructor schedules, etc. • Manages pool area lost and found articles. • Manages pool area, including lockers and changing rooms for cleanliness. • Ensures proper pool staffing in place at all times. • Keeps attendance records of members and children attending lessons. • Ability to handle all basic concerns and questions of staff and members, bringing necessary attention to Pool Manager and Assistant Manager • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Pool Manager and Assistant Manager Requirements: Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations: • Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED Red Cross certifications. • Ability to effectively communicate with all staff, adults and children. • Ability to direct staff to maintain a clean, safe and orderly pool deck, pools and locker rooms. • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations. Licenses and Special Requirements: • Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate. • American Red Cross Basic First Aid required, training on AED units and possession of a current Red Cross CPR card. Education and/or Experience: High School graduate or GED, appropriate Red Cross certification(s), previous lifeguard or swim coach experience.
