This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants in swimming and water-related activities. The coordinator will develop, implement, and evaluate aquatic programs that cater to various age groups and skill levels, promoting water safety and fitness. Additionally, the role involves training and supervising lifeguards and swim instructors, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and provide high-quality instruction. Ultimately, the Aquatics Coordinator will enhance the community's engagement with aquatic activities, fostering a culture of health, safety, and enjoyment in water sports. Minimum Qualifications: Current LG Certification High school diploma or equivalent. Current certification in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid. Previous experience in aquatics programming or facility management. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in staff supervision and training. Knowledge of water safety regulations and best practices. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive aquatics program that includes swimming lessons, water fitness classes, and recreational swim times. Supervise and train lifeguards and swim instructors, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain a safe environment. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the aquatic facilities, including regular inspections and compliance with health regulations. Organize and promote special events, competitions, and community outreach programs related to aquatics. Manage the aquatics budget, including tracking expenses and revenue, and making recommendations for improvements or changes to the program. Skills: The required skills for this position include strong leadership and communication abilities, which are essential for effectively managing staff and engaging with the community. Organizational skills are crucial for planning and executing various aquatic programs and events, ensuring they run smoothly and safely. Attention to detail is necessary for maintaining facility standards and compliance with health regulations. Preferred skills such as budgeting and financial management will aid in the effective allocation of resources and maximizing program success. Additionally, a passion for aquatics and community engagement will enhance the overall experience for participants and staff alike.
