Job Description

Position Title: Slope Maintenance (Trail crew) Reports To: Slope Maintenance Manager Employment Status: Seasonal, Summer Job Summary: Join Brundage Mountain's dynamic Summer Slope Maintenance Crew to help maintain and enhance our mountain terrain. This hands-on position involves working directly on the mountain to prepare and maintain trails for both summer activities and the upcoming winter season. You'll use a variety of tools including chainsaws, pole saws, rock breakers, and hand tools to clear hazard trees, manage vegetation, and implement critical erosion control measures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Execute professional tree falling operations, stump grinding, and brush removal to maintain safe, clear trails Perform terrain grading, implement erosion control systems, and maintain irrigation infrastructure Maintain accurate documentation for equipment maintenance, daily operations, time reporting, and inventory management Support other departments during races, special events, and high-volume operations Assist with implementing the mountain's Fuels and Fire reduction program Uphold rigorous safety standards in the operation of all mountain vehicles, equipment, and tools Deliver exceptional guest experiences through positive interactions with visitors, colleagues, and management Job Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to different communication styles Experience with chainsaw operation (feller or sawyer certification preferred) Advanced skills in equipment operation (excavator, dump truck, telehandler) highly valued Other Requirements: Physical stamina to lift and carry 50-100 pounds Valid driver's license and ability to pass an insurance driving history check Flexibility to work variable schedules including holidays and weekends Capacity to work outdoors in diverse and sometimes challenging weather conditions Ability to sit, stand, walk, and hike throughout a 10 hour shift Safe operation of equipment requiring clear vision, hearing, and manual dexterity
