The Role This newly created standalone HR leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the people and culture strategy in a dynamic SME environment. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Board, you’ll lead HR operations and drive people initiatives that support growth, performance, and engagement. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and delivery of people strategy aligned to business objectives Provide expert HR guidance to managers on employment law and people matters Oversee recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and succession planning Develop and implement performance management, L&D, and reward frameworks Manage employee relations, change initiatives, and compliance policies Maintain HR systems and generate people metrics and reports Partner with senior leadership to build a progressive, inclusive workplace culture Who You Are Proven HR generalist with experience in standalone or SME roles CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent experience) In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Experienced in driving change, building people processes, and influencing senior stakeholders Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels Proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused Benefits Discretionary bonus scheme Enhanced family leave and long-service sabbaticals Hybrid working with summer hours and flexible start/finish times Study leave, charity support day, and day off for moving house Cycle to work scheme, EAP, pension, and more
