The Exercise Specialist will oversee the fitness room and support existing programs while implementing additional land and water programs. Exercise Specialist responsibilities will include: Designing and executing small group exercise fitness programs, tailored to the needs and attainable goals of the individual(s) in a safe and effective way. Instructs individuals how to execute cardiovascular exercises efficiently and use equipment safety and effectively through fitness center orientations. Supports, promotes, plans and implements participation in classes (land and water) for both residents and team members. Collaborates with supervisor to develop and maintain budget. Works with other Wellness team members on campus-wide events. Requirements: Exercise Specialist Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education, Recreational Therapy or Exercise Physiology preferred. Additional training related to a recreation therapy field desirable. Experience with senior population and managing people is helpful. Current CPR and First Aid Certification required. Lifeguard Certification is desirable. Must be willing to receive training and certification in any other educational programs/certifications necessary to perform tasks.
