Job Description Job Description The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and visitors at the pool facility. This role involves monitoring activities in and around the water, enforcing safety rules, responding to emergencies, and providing first aid or CPR when necessary. Lifeguards also assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the pool area and may provide customer service to guests. This is a seasonal position that will end after Labor Day weekend. Key Responsibilities: Keep a close eye on all pool or waterfront activity to spot and prevent potential hazards Enforce safety guidelines and facility rules to protect guests and staff Act fast in emergencies—performing rescues and giving first aid or CPR when needed Make sure rescue equipment is in working order and areas stay clean and safe Document any incidents and complete daily checklists or reports Take part in safety drills and regular staff training sessions Provide friendly support to visitors and answer questions as needed Qualifications & Skills: Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required. In-person or in-person/online blended class for CPR, First Aid, and AED certification. Strong swimming skills and the ability to perform water rescues. Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
