Lifeguard $25/hour

Job Description Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and energetic lifeguard to monitor activities in and around our open-water aquatic facility, located on the bay in Margate, NJ. In this position, you are required to remain alert during your shift to ensure that patrons consistently follow all safety rules and precautions, and can handle confrontations that may arise adequately. We also expect lifeguards to respond quickly to deter dangerous behavior and act immediately in the event of an emergency. Candidates must be able to work from mid-June through Labor Day Weekend, be certified by the American Red Cross as a Lifeguard (including CPR and First Aid), and have at least six months of lifeguard experience. Island Aqua Park holds a certification class over Memorial Day Weekend at a discounted rate if you are not already certified. Lifeguard Duties and Responsibilities Remain alert and keep a watchful eye on all activities that occur in and around the water Enforce all safety rules of the facility to prevent incidents Provide information, instructions, and directions to patrons Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, and assist anyone who needs help in the water. This includes providing first aid, CPR, or other life-saving care treatments to patrons as necessary. Identify and communicate any potential health, safety, or accident risks to the facility supervisor Provide excellent guest services by answering questions and offering assistance as needed. Perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving equipment or assisting distressed swimmers. Experience American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification 6 Months of Lifeguard experience preferred Keen attention to detail Ability to react appropriately in stressful, high-pressure, and fast-paced emergencies Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform rescues effectively. Compassionate and service-oriented attitude with a passion for maintaining the safety of the facility Excellent communication skills Reliable transportation Experience in guest services or customer interaction is beneficial. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
