Job Description Job Description Job Title: Summer Camp EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Location: Port Washington, NY Employment Type: Seasonal (Summer 2025) Hours: Full-Time / Part-Time Available Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and certifications About Us: Our summer camp in Port Washington, NY, provides a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children ages 5–15. We are dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of every camper and staff member throughout the season. We're seeking a licensed EMT to join our medical team for Summer 2025. Position Summary: The Summer Camp EMT will be responsible for providing immediate medical care, assessing injuries and illnesses, maintaining health records, and ensuring compliance with all New York State OCFS health and safety regulations. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe camp environment and supporting the overall wellness of our campers and staff. Key Responsibilities: Provide first aid and emergency medical care to campers and staff as needed Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, incident logs, and daily medication logs in compliance with NYS OCFS standards Distribute and document administration of medications as directed by the camp's health care plan Monitor campers with known medical conditions (e.g., allergies, asthma, diabetes) Communicate with parents and guardians regarding medical incidents or ongoing concerns Work closely with the Camp Nurse, Directors, and other staff to ensure a safe camp environment Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Health Center and medical supplies Participate in staff training, emergency drills, and OCFS compliance procedures Remain on-site during designated hours and be on call for emergencies during camp hours Qualifications: Current NYS EMT Certification (required) CPR/AED and First Aid certified (required) Prior experience working with children or in a camp/school setting (preferred) Knowledge of NYS OCFS regulations related to children's camps (required) Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Compassionate, calm under pressure, and detail-oriented Work Schedule: Camp runs from late June through mid-August Pre-camp training and setup dates required in mid-to-late June Weekday shifts (Monday–Friday); occasional weekend availability may be requested for overnight programs or events
