Job Description Job Description The Greenbush Area YMCA in Rensselaer, NY is seeking dynamic individuals to fill the roles of Head Swim Instructor and lifeguard. These pool positions support the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening our community. CURRENT POOL VACANCIES Lifeguards - Part time, various shifts available Swim Instructors - Part time, various shifts available MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL AQUATIC POSITIONS AGE RESTRICTION: Minimum age of 16 years old. NYS Working Papers required for applicants under 18 yrs old. TESTING: Be able to pass a CDYMCA swim test, administered by the Aquatics Director or designated individual. CERTIFICATIONS: Valid CPR, AED, and First Aid SKILLS: Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community SWIM INSTRUCTOR - $15.90 PER HOUR - DELIVERS SWIM LESSONS REQUIRED DOCUMENT(S): NYS Working Papers (Under 18 yrs old), and aquatic certifications Basic knowledge of computers. LIFEGUARD - $15.90 PER HOUR - MONITORS POOL, DECK, AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
