OUR OPPORTUNITY Govan Brown is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Site Supervisor to join our team to oversee ICI interiors construction project sites. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in construction management, offering hands-on experience in coordinating site activities and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with senior site management, the project management team and subcontractors to help deliver high-quality construction projects on time and within budget. Your responsibilities will include: Play a key role in ensuring projects and service work is executed on time and on budget Maximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency subcontractors Create a safe work environment by implementing strict Health & Safety guidelines on site and ensuring compliance with all related legislation and safe practices Interpret plans and specifications according to the scope of the project, ensuring compliance with working drawings and specifications Liaise effectively and maintain regular communication with all Project Stakeholders Exercise legal due diligence, including maintenance of a daily job history log, inspecting workmanship to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identifying resources required WHAT YOU BRING 2 years of hands-on experience on construction sites or in a related supervisory role Background in commercial construction, interior fit-outs, or carpentry is a strong asset Completion of post-secondary education in Construction Management, Construction Project Management, or a related field is an asset Strong commitment to health and safety; formal training or certification is a plus Proven leadership skills with the ability to hold teams accountable for quality and performance Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and earn respect from all project stakeholders Solid understanding of relevant health, safety, and construction standards Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources efficiently High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct Comfortable using digital tools; proficiency in MS Office Suite and SiteDocs, or similar software and apps. YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT HQ is located at 108 Vine Avenue, Toronto. This position is based in a construction work site environment in all seasons. This is not a hybrid or remote role.
