Camp Barney Medintz is committed to ensuring enjoyable, meaningful, and safe experiences for our campers and staff. Camp Barney Medintz (CBM) is seeking its next Director of Operations and Facility (DO) . This position will focus on the Operations of Camp, and is a senior level, full-time, year-round position overseeing the facilities, operations, safety and security, scheduling, administration, food service, and health center of the organization. The DO is a key strategic partner to the Executive Director and senior year-round and summer leadership teams at Camp Barney Medintz. This role requires a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented leader who can create a positive environment for staff, campers, and families. The DO supervises the Facilities staff as well as the Food Service, the Health Center, the Logistics, the Laundry, and Security teams during the summer. This role is suited for an existing high-level professional with camp and/or business experience, as well as operational knowledge of overnight summer camp or other residential facilities with a focus on youth recreational experiences. The appropriate candidate will demonstrate a commitment to building the type of year-round and lifelong interpersonal relationships and holistic Jewish community that are essential to the Camp Barney Medintz mission. Location: September to Mid - April: Hybrid (4 days a week in the office) in Dunwoody, GA Mid-April - August: Full-Time in Cleveland, GA What You’ll Do: Camp Operations -Manage day-to-day summer operations, including health center, scheduling, facilities, logistics, security, and kitchen. -Hire and supervise seasonal and year-round staff including: logistics, facilities, and housekeeping. -Liaison to the Marcus JCC IT department and their services; implement technology upgrades as needed. -Responsibility for establishing policies and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and accrediting bodies such as ACA, including accreditation process. -Supervise all security matters for camp, including working directly with our security company to implement the security plans, security systems, and security grants. -Foster a positive camp culture by promoting teamwork, open communication, and excellent customer service. Facilities: -Ensure the safe and ongoing operation at CBM in Cleveland, GA. -Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with facilities vendors. -Oversee facility improvement and building projects. Strategic Direction -Maintain, modify, and implement camp protocols and policies; update parent and employee handbook as needed and ensure staff adheres to employee handbook policies. -Develop, maintain, and implement strategic and operational plans to achieve long-term success and growth of the organization. Requirements Ideal Candidates will possess some combination of the following skills and background: Significant experience in the operations of an organization Property management / physical plant experience Experience in non-profit, educational, and/or camping field Experience in one or more related for-profit fields including consulting, and operations The ability to be a self-starter with strong work ethic and excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills What You’ll Need: Considerate and respectful of others at all times Outstanding organizational and executive functioning skills Outstanding Tech skills Passion for strengthening Jewish identity Ability to problem solve and think creatively High energy level and be extremely goal-oriented Self-motivated and able to work both independently and with a team Approach opportunities and challenges with confidence, determination, and resilience Must be able to work in a demanding environment and able to quickly adjust to changing conditions Summer residency of approximately 11 weeks at CBM in Cleveland, GA Regularly scheduled time during the off-season at our Camp facility. Ability to build trusting and lasting relationships with campers, camper parents, staff, professional leaders, vendors, and other partners Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 10 days off post camp. The office is closed Christmas through New Years, as well as the Jewish and secular holidays. 4 days a week in the Dunwoody office during the off-season)-Go home every day feeling like you made the camp and the world a better place
