What you'll be doing This role will act as a subject matter expert on fonts for the Group, providing knowledge and advice to all business functions. Manage fonts procurement, licensing and the deployment of such creative assets within Hachette UK and Hachette Book Group (US), including the review of current processes and business requirements, including proposing changes to such processes, the successful candidate will be the central point of control for the use and management of fonts across the companies, liaising with stakeholders and ensuring licensing compliance and adherence to best practice, and will be responsible for representing these overall results to the business and legal teams. Some key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Map business stakeholders with an interest or involvement in font management Map current processes for font management and the licensing of other creative assets as required Develop licensing strategies that support creative freedom, commercial considerations and legal compliance. Managing complex licensing portfolios and vendor relationships. Ensure process and policy documentation is kept up to date and fit for purpose Collate fully costed options/recommendations for optimal resource (inc. roles and responsibilities), processes and system usage for future management of fonts within HUK, HBG and HANZ. Educate teams on licensing risks and proper usage through training sessions and documentation A full job description will be shared at interview stage Who we are looking for The ideal candidate will have proven experience in licensing, intellectual property management, or rights administration, preferably in a creative or digital environment. A s trong understanding of font licensing models (desktop, web, app, broadcast, etc.) is essential to the role. An a wareness of trends in typography, branding, and accessibility in publishing is also key to this role, and a n understanding of publishing processes and systems is advantageous.
