POSITION OVERVIEW The High School Programs Director at the East Palo Alto Clubhouse leads the strategic direction, daily operations, and continuous improvement of all high school programming at the site. This position ensures a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where high school youth can develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The Director manages a team of program staff, cultivates school and community partnerships, and collaborates with BGCP's central programs and development teams to achieve site-wide goals. This role reports to the Clubhouse Director. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Program Leadership & Strategic Planning Develop and execute the vision and strategy for all East Palo Alto high school programs, aligned with BGCP's organizational goals. Design, oversee, and continuously improve school-year and summer programming that supports academic success, leadership development, and postsecondary readiness. Establish annual site objectives and lead the Results-Oriented Cycle of Inquiry to track progress and impact. Use data and feedback to guide decisions, refine programs, and ensure equitable access and outcomes for all students. Program Quality & Curriculum Development Review and provide feedback on program and lesson plans to ensure alignment with BGCP's learning goals and youth development outcomes. Implement and monitor program quality assessments (PQA) to drive staff growth and program excellence. Develop and maintain a comprehensive "East Palo Alto High School Programs Playbook" to onboard and support staff in consistent, high-quality program delivery. Staff Supervision & Professional Development Recruit, supervise, and coach a team of high school program staff, including full-time and part-time employees. Lead weekly staff meetings to support effective communication, planning, and team collaboration. Provide ongoing professional development and performance feedback to ensure staff success and growth. Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven culture that reflects BGCP's core values. Partnership & Community Engagement Build and maintain strong partnerships with East Palo Alto high schools, including school leaders, teachers, and counselors, to align programs with student needs. Collaborate with BGCP's Future Grads, College and Career, and other central teams to deliver cohesive and impactful student experiences. Support family engagement through orientations, family dinners, showcases, and community events. Operations & Site Management Support day-to-day Clubhouse operations, including scheduling, safety procedures, and facility management. Ensure all programs operate in compliance with BGCP policies and safety standards. Support and participate in major organizational events such as Youth of the Year, Thanksgiving Dinner, and student showcases. Perform other duties as assigned to advance BGCP's mission and site success. QUALIFICATIONS Commitment to BGCP's mission and vision B.S. degree or relevant work experience A minimum of one-year successful experience in an educational environment A minimum of one year successful management experience with diverse teams Experience building relationships with diverse youth communities and constituents Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement Strong communication skills Flexible in navigating a fast-paced environment Preferred one year of experience working with 9th - 12th grade youth Spanish fluency is a plus LOCATION East Palo Alto Clubhouse WORK SCHEDULE Monday through Friday 10:30am-7:30pm (Some evenings & weekends required for events & family engagement) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt Pay Range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 depending on experience (DOE) Health Benefits: Full-Time Employees: BGCP covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums; 50% for dependents Retirement Benefits: BGCP offers contributions to the 401(k) plan Comprehensive Paid Time-Off Policy, along with additional benefits Contributing to a thriving community for youth growth: Beyond measure As part of the hiring process, BGCP requires candidates to complete a LiveScan fingerprinting, background check, and tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
