Job Description: Seeking a developer intern to join our team to develop, deploy and maintain secure automated software testing solutions for a cloud-based service. Appliessubject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommend appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May collaborate on various projects and provide input to related activities and deliver information validation to the team. Exercise judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make recommendations on complex business issues. Responsibilities: Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of end-user application software running on local, networked, and Internet- based platforms. Develop automated unit testing for software testing solutions. Develop Continuous Integration Development System to push automated software testing solutions through the deployment cycle of a cloud based service. Examine designs to recommend coding and integration activities required based on general knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution. Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture. Works with a project team of other software applications engineers that are internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for assigned applications portion or subsystem. Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software applications design status, project progress, and issue resolution. Represents the software applications engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects. Seeks out guidance and mentoring from more experienced staff members. Design and develop high quality, well-architected, and high performing secure software solutions. Follow a Test Driven Development (TDD) model to ensure quality. Design, develop and deliver cloud-based services interfacing with multiple platforms and organizations across HP. Education and Knowledge Required: Must be enrolled in a master's degree program with a concentration in Computer Science, or equivalent. Knowledge and Skills desired in the following areas: Software development life cycle Big data and analytics Security, compliance and privacy Secure software and risk mitigation Encryption technology Requirements, analysis, definition and implementation of software solutions Python, Git, MySQL Database, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Postman, Databricks, JavaScript, and Java Developing tools to automate testing Web Services API’s Creating automated testing services Linux/Unix and good TCP/IP based networking Application of software quality tools and methodologies Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels Exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills Designing software applications running on multiple platform types Working in an Agile/Scrum based development team Software applications testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English LI-POST About HP You’re out to reimagine and reinvent what’s possible—in your career as well as the world around you.
